Using eCommerce to boost sales

Jako AG is a leading German sportswear company that provides uniforms for major international soccer, handball, basketball and ice hockey teams.

Jako needed help in addressing its increasingly complex eCommerce needs. For its European market, a centrally managed eCommerce platform with a variable look, features and processes depending on the roll-out market was the requirement. In addition, JAKO wanted to be able to create a system that provided order portals, customized for its business clients.

First, our Points Group team developed a system architecture and specifications that reflected the multitude of requirements for the various countries and markets. We then developed a highly customizable and flexible e-Business platform that was rolled out to five different markets within the first year. It included central reporting, inventory management and process automation across countries. The platform also included flexible integration into clients’ systems, as well as integration with the company’s production planning system.

With the launch of the new platform, JAKO was able to improve its overall online presence across most of its markets. The flexibility to easily launch new market-specific eCommerce-capable websites allowed JAKO to improve its market presence in all of its target markets. In addition, the accuracy of forecasting and production planning improved drastically, which, in turn, increased product availability for end-consumers and business partners.
