Points Group has unique expertise in medical marketing. This is reflected in providing a valuable forum for doctors in a variety of fields who take to the airwaves in a weekly program. The show, “Sound Advice” on 1450 WCTC, is hosted by veteran and prime-time broadcaster Bert Baron on select weekdays from 6-7pm. This informative hour also includes listeners’ call-in questions.
The broadcast allows doctors an opportunity to articulate the scope of their field, specialties, skills and background. In addition, it serves as an important educational tool for the listening audience, which spans the area community and beyond. This radio hour is valuable for medical clients in several regards. The most obvious is reaching potential patients; new patients, do, in fact, make appointments with guest doctors following their broadcasts. Another more unexpected benefit is that the doctors find these in-depth segments enable them to frame their practice in ways that are useful in other forums—from speaking engagements to authoring articles or blogs. The type of topics and call-in questions also provide doctors important insights and feedback on what medical consumers want and need to know.
At Points Group, our experienced staff does the groundwork to facilitate these successful programs. Our staff media expert has over two decades of radio experience as both a writer and broadcaster. She works with the Points Group media department to prepare extensive, detailed talking points for each doctor as well as the host. Our media advisor also provides advice both prior to the broadcast, as well as lending client support and advice onsite if needed.
In addition to the on-air program, the Points Group/WCTC radio package also includes commercial airtime. Several 60-second commercials are custom-written for each doctor by our staff and are broadcast a total of 16 times per show. The commercials air between Monday and Friday, 6 am to 6 pm (prime air time).
